"MANHATTAN" LOFT IN BUKIT TERESA
A modern Manhattan loft in the central-south of Singapore. This four-storey townhouse was fully redesigned for a doctor who wanted “real and raw” materials.
The entire living room wall was overlaid with brick-veneered Craftstone. Three large “loft-windows” were created from blackened steel frames and large format mirrors. This opens up the living space, and accentuates height.
In the open kitchen, a full-height cabinet for the appliances was built into a steel frame with a sliding ladder.
The cement-screeded staircase gives a sculptural form and feel connecting the living space to the upper levels.
On the top level, the study room follows the same theme, and enjoys natural sunlight from a newly opened-up skylight above the bricked wall.
